| The 2004 Champions Fit Triathlon season will be divided
into 2 phases. The first phase will be an 8-week Foundation
program starting March 2nd. This phase is designed for
beginners interested in a triathlon training program
but would like to build a strong fundamentals and training
base beforehand. The second phase (Training) will incorporate
2 training programs; Cinco Ranch (Olympic distance)
and the Lone Star ½ Ironman (Dates for both races
to be announced). The Foundation phase and Training
phase will each have their own registrations but the
cost of the Foundation phase will include the Training
phase. |
Sign-ups
The Foundation program will begin Tuesday, March 2nd
2004, 6:30pm. You can sign-up in person at 8:00a on
February 28th or March 7th. The Training program will
begin Tuesday, May 18th 2004, 6:30pm. You can sign-up
in person at 8:00a on May 15th or May 22nd. Sign-ups
will be held at the Cypress Creek YMCA, 19915 SH 249
(rear parking lot).

Training Phases
- Foundation - In
the foundation phase the workouts will focus on
developing the aerobic system while training at
low heart rate, as building a house we will lay
the proper foundation for the training program.
The foundation phase will include a field test for
swimming, running, and cycling.
- Training –
The training programs (Olympic & 1/2 Ironman)
will consist of a preparation, specialization, and
transition phase to prepare for the appropriate
race. Training rides will be divided into two groups
based off of average speed. Other workouts will
defer only in total time or distance.
